Spencer Avenue Corridor: The Armory Building

In August 2008 CND began to build 48 newly constructed rental apartments located at 113 Spencer Avenue at the site of Chelsea's old Armory Building. Construction is scheduled to be completed by Thanksgiving 2009.

In 2009, CND will complete a participatory neighborhood planning process for the Spencer Avenue Corridor. We will look at existing properties, pedestrian safety, key intersections and roads in the areas, and conduct a traffic study to weigh possibilities for rerouting and redirecting traffic. Along with these exciting development plans, CND will invite Spencer Avenue area residents to join in neighborhood planning discussions and design charrettes, much like those organized in the Shurtleff Bellingham neighborhood. CND will also extend their community engagement services to the Spencer Avenue Corridor in the form of NeighborCircles and community networking.
