Community Engagement
Do you know your neighbors? Do you believe that you and your neighbors can come together to address neighborhood problems when they arise?
These questions are at the heart of our community engagement programming. CND believes that a person’s connections to neighbors and to community organizations are important social assets. These connections or community networks take both tangible forms, block associations for example, and intangible forms like mothers of 5th grade students, and both are equally important. Our programs seek to build and strengthen connections between neighbors in order to foster a community proud to be a part of Chelsea.
This network of neighbors, business owners, organizations and city officials is vital to improving quality of life, generating a positive sense of community and increasing neighborhood cooperation. As more and more residents are incorporated into these networks the numbers of relationships generated increases exponencially.
